Star Wars RPG: The Unknown Regions

$39.95 SRP

Far from the cityscape of Coruscant, beyond the fringe planets of the Outer Rim, lies a vast region of space called the Unknown Regions. The Unknown Regions are mysterious and uncharted. They are home to strange aliens, violent slavers, and the forgotten remnants of ancient civilizations that have lived in isolation for eons.

This sourcebook gives players and Gamemasters everything they need to run and play in campaigns featuring scouts, exploration, and adventure in the uncharted reaches of the Star Wars galaxy. The Unknown Regions allows Gamemasters to take their existing campaigns in bold new directions, or this book can be used to jumpstart a new campaign that focuses on exploring the unknown.

As in Dixit each round one player takes a role of Storyteller who chooses one card from his hand, tells, sings or does something that in his opinion is associated with the played card. Player who has the most points wins the game.

March 2010

FFGCT32
Call of Cthulhu: Secrets of Arkham
$24.95 SRP

The city of Arkham holds terrible secrets from the past that are beyond human understanding and when these secrets emerge from the depths, dire consequences follow.

Based on the dark mythos of master horror writer H.P. Lovecraft, the Secrets of Arkham expansion features a new 10-card story deck designed to take your experience with Call of Cthulhu: The Card Game down new paths of cosmic horror.

This story deck provides an alternative to the original provided with Call of Cthulhu: The Card Game Core Set. WH: LCG: Invasion Assault on Ulthuan

Posted in Board Games, Posterous on March 4th, 2010 by The Staff @ CAVGames

FFGWHC08

Warhammer: WH: LCG:
Invasion Assault on Ulthuan

$29.95 SRP

The Assault on Ulthuan expansion explores the bitter enmity between the Dark Elves and the High Elves. The Dark Elves are a cruel race who excel at taking prisoners, sacrificing them, and inflicting vast amounts of pain on enemy units through hit point reduction. The High Elves are a proud, powerful race who rely on card denial, cancellation, healing, and ranged attacks. Both will raise mighty kingdoms and venture out on perilous quests. Can either faction rise to dominance over the other, or will they both succumb to another foe altogether?

Assault on Ulthuan contains two core starter decks of forty cards, as well as two capital boards for the Dark Elves and High Elves. Players of the existing factions will find plenty to aid them as well; new cards for the other four factions, plus a handful of neutrals, bring a host of new strategies, tactics, and deck-building options for each of the six races in the game.

New Wings of War WWI Drachens

WW: Balloon Busters:                     WW: Balloon Busters:
De Guibert                                           Johnson/Prince
$59.95 MSRP (Each)
LIMITED STOCK please preorder

Turn your eyes skyward during World War I, and you’ll discover that planes weren’t alone in the skies.

Drachens, the enormous floating leviathans of the air, were used as observation platforms and even for barrages. In response, the Le Prieur rockets introduced in April 1916 were designed to bring them down!

The balloons were so difficult to destroy, even using Le Prieur rockets, that it required the pilot to head directly into the target while they fired. The electric switch had to be triggered very close to the Drachen, and if they happened to ignite the gases holding the balloon aloft, the plane could be caught in the blast. These ace pilots came to be known as “Balloon Busters.”

Each Balloon Buster expansion set adds one spectacular Drachen model, and an additional plane model for use with Wings of War.

The Balloon Buster expansion sets are not a complete game. A copy of at least Famous Aces, Watch your Back!, Burning Drachens, or WWI Deluxe is required to play.

APRIL
This was one of the “finds” from Toyfair this year

CPIBSK09
Bisikle
$39.99 SRP

The Bisikle set is a real treasure. It has 57 pieces and over 13 ft of track. You can decide the difficulty, add obstacles and create the most challenging races! BISIKLE is an exciting experience that will quickly take over the traditional board games. The players have to compete on a crazy track in order to win a bicycle race. No cards or electrical devices are involved. The whole concept is in the ZBall, a marble with a unique internal mechanism. It is very easy to control. Basically, the goal of the game is to flick your way to the finish line as fast as possible.

The challenge is to control the effects of the ZBall and pass as fast as possible through all the obstacles (slopes, fences, jumps, mouseholes, etc.). Bisikle is the first of many ZBall games and was published in 2009 (September) in the USA. A track has to be built each game.

Steve Jackson: Zombie and Cthulhu Dice Driven

Posted in Board Games, Posterous on March 4th, 2010 by The Staff @ CAVGames
Coming in April

SJG131313

Zombie Dice

Eat brains.  Don’t get shotgunned.
You are a zombie.  You want braaaaains.  More brains than any of your zombie buddies.
Zombie Dice is fast and easy for any zombie fan (or the whole zombie family).  The 13 custom dice are your victims.  Push your luck to eat their brains, but stop rolling before the shotgun blasts end your turn!

Two or more can play.  Each game takes 10 to 20 minutes and can be taught in a single round.

SJG131315

Cthulhu Dice

Serving Cthulhu is fun…except for all those other cultists out to get you.  So get them first!
Cthulhu Dice lets you drive your rivals mad….very, very quickly.  Players take turns rolling the big, beautiful, custom 12-sided die, embossed with tentacles, Elder Signs, and more.  Destroy your opponents’ sanity!  Better yet, steal it.  But watch out for Cthulhu – when he comes up, he takes sanity from everyone!  18 glass Sanity marbles are included.  Lose all your marbles and you’re mad.  The last sane cultist wins…unless everyone goes mad together.  Then Cthulhu wins!

Cthulhu Dice plays in 5 to 10 minutes and is fun for 2 to 6 players.
