“If we had an ‘RC Vehicle Of The Year’ award, the Slash would win. Some may not understand its appeal, but once you drive one and race or bash with some friends, the reason for its win becomes obvious. You can pick one up for less than $ 200 and join a racing class that isn’t cluttered with option parts or tire options. Its scale appearance makes it look awesome on a track, and honestly it doesn’t handle too badly either. And again—advertising in our mag isn’t a factor, but when you take into consideration the fact that Traxxas spends a grip of cash exposing non-RC people to the hobby with TV commercials and an entire full-size racing team, you can see why the Slash has gained a huge following in such a short time. We’ve never before seen this much excitement over a $ 200 RTR…ever.
